“The Les Pavots ’99 has a superb blackberry and blueberry scented bouquet that comes racing out of the blocks, a smudge of alcohol that does its best not to detract from freshness and definition. The palate is very pure and succulent with ripe blackberry, creme de cassis and kirsch. It is primal and youthful, a Cabernet of great dimension the “thrust”, but it is still very well balanced and destined to age for a couple of decades yet. This is a superb Napa Cabernet is just beginning to “motor”. (7/2012)
