“Along with Petrus, Clos l’Eglise is one of the finest wines of the vintage in Pomerol. Its deep ruby/purple color is accompanied by a sumptuous perfume of mocha, fudge, vanilla, black cherries, espresso, and plums, a creamy, full-bodied texture, gorgeous purity, and a long, persistent finish with no hard edges. It is quite an achievement!” Robert Parker for Wine Advocate

“Amazing how well this Pomerol performs in blind tastings and no change here. It has quite a broody blackberry nose inflected with hints of Valrhona chocolate, sloe, Maraschino cherry and violets, opening up nicely in the glass. The full-bodied palate is modern and showing with fresh fig and raisin notes interwoven into those ripe toasty black fruits. Youthful, good persistency and a tannic, quite grippy finish that lingers in the mouth. Yet another great showing for Clos l’Eglise in a blind tasting.” Tasted October 2009. Neal Martin for Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate

“Lots of blackberry and dark chocolate on the nose. Yummy. Full-bodied, with soft, round tannins and lots of juicy fruit and luscious vanilla. Very long and delicious. This is very well done for the vintage with layers of fruit. Best after 2007.” Wine Spectator
