“Made from two one-hectare parcels of vines with a high average age and tiny yields, according to enologist Germain: Bright, full ruby. Wild, reduced aromas of crushed blackberry, black cherry and dark chocolate. Seamless and superripe, conveying superb density of material in a round, silky way. Black fruit and violet flavors are framed and lifted by tangy, peppery, ripe acidity. The finish is very long and ripely tannic for a Côte de Beaune wine in 2014. A rather silky, feminine style compared to the tighter, more masculine Champans.” (1/2016) Vinous

“Heavy reduction completely dominates the nose today. By contrast there is excellent verve and freshness to the dense and relatively powerful medium-bodied flavors that display a touch of bitter cherry on the austere, serious and ever-so-mildly edgy finale. This may very well come together but between the reduction and the edginess this is difficult to read.” (4/2016) Allen Meadows – Burghound
