93 Tim Atkin for Wine Enthusiast
“Made as a stand alone wine since 2005 (it used to go into Château Laforge) this is ripe, but not over-ripe. It handles its 80% new oak with ease, showing notes of plum, dark cherry and cinnamon and firm, but well rounded tannins. The limestone freshness kicks in on the finish. 92 Lisa Perrotti-Brown for Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
“A blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, the deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Le Carre opens with creme de cassis and blackberry preserves notes with touches of licorice, chocolate box and black soil plus a touch of cloves. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and firm, it offers grainy tannins with lovely eclectic spice layers coming through on the long finish.” (Apr 2018)
90 Decanter
“From a parcel near Clos Fourtet. Spicy and fragrant with fine texture and tannins, mid-palate sweetness then length on the finish.” Drink: 2021-2028
