Description

The Château Sainte Roseline Lampe de Méduse Rosé is one of only 18 crus classés in Provence, a First Classified Growth of 1955. The estate is steeped in history and the wine comes in a bottle with a particular shape. First created n 1950 by the Baroness Rasque of Laval, the Lampe de Méduse takes its name from the Knights of Medusa, a prestigous brotherhood working for the Promotion of Provençal wines. Before being inducted, the Knights of Medusa used to “Lamper le vin,” meaning “to drink a large amount in one stroke.”

Wine Advocate: The 2018 Côtes de Provence Château Sainte Roseline Château Lampe de Méduse Rosé   is a blend of 40% Cinsault, 20% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre, 10% Tibouren, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Rolle. Scents are of underripe citrus and leafy herbs, even a touch of green tomato. It’s light to medium-bodied, with a pleasant, silky texture and fresh melon and citrus on the finish.
