“Dense but lively purple, a little bit reductive, having not yet been racked at any stage. Sweet rich ripe fruit but not cooked here, just ultra-lush, with good acidity. Nicely balanced, with even some elegance, I really enjoy the finish here, with a welcome strictness. Very promising. Tasted: November 2020.”

“The 2019 Nuits Saint-Georges Clos des Porrets-Saint-Georges 1er Cru has a tightly wound bouquet, iris and incense notes dominating at the moment, slightly at the expense of terroir expression. The harmonious palate is medium-bodied with fleshy red berry fruit and a touch of white pepper and clove, dovetailing into a piquant, lively finish. All it lacks is a bit of persistence on the aftertaste.” (12/2020)

“Firm reduction blocks an evaluation of the nose today though the underlying fruit does seem ripe. There is excellent vibrancy to the subtly mineral-driven larger-scaled flavors that possess better depth and persistence on the muscular, serious and youthfully austere finale.
