Description

This unique wine is produced on Mazzorbo Island in the Venetian Lagoon by the Bisol family — who are known for their prestigious Proseccos in the Valdobbiadene — along with the Venice City Government. Desiderio Bisol and Roberto Cipresso serve as winemakers for Venissa. Anceint Dorona grapes, painstakingly propagated and reproduced on the island, are now vinified to make the golden-colored wine.

Skins are left for approximately 30 days to develop the color and the wines are fermented in the bottle. The wine is then aged for two years. The lagoon environment is essential to the flavor of the wine. The nose smells of wild flowers and peaches with a hint of fresh grass. The taste is velvety, with fruit, walnut and balanced acidity for a full-flavored finish.

The wine is bottled in Murano glass created by celebrated artist Carlo Moretti. A gold label is produced by the battiloro family, who have worked as goldsmiths in Venice’s Cannaregio district for over 1,000 years. The gold label is fused directly onto the bottle and then numbered. A new label is designed very year.
